Ten Pointless Facts About Me

Forking Mad+ posted this blogging challenge back in April, ten pointless questions to answer about yourself. I thought I would give it a try.

Do you floss your teeth?

Odd question, but Yes! Daily! I can’t believe how many people who answer this question say they don’t floss, or only occasionally. Take care of your teeth, you’re really going to miss them when they’re gone.

Tea, coffee, or water?

All three. The day starts with a cup of tea, coffee later in the day, black tea in the afternoon, maybe herbal tea in the evening. Water throughout the day and night.

Footwear preference?

Slippers. I like Minnetonka moccasins, or slippers from The Bag Ladies of Sequim. (No affiliation, I just like their slippers).

Favorite dessert?

My wife’s home-made pumpkin pie. For store-bought dessert, ice cream.

The first thing you do when you wake up?

After getting dressed? Make a cup of tea.

Age you'd like to stick at?

There are so many challenges at every age, and I don’t want to revisit them. I suppose I would say 60. Old enough to have made most of my mistakes, young enough to still have an active life.

How many hats do you own?

Eight or nine. Several fedora-style hats, a couple of baseball caps, a Tilly, one or two knit winter caps. I like hats.

Describe the last photo you took?

A photo of the Dungeness River, taken with a 20-year old Canon Powershot that I revived recently.

Worst TV show?

Any reality show. That might not be fair, since I’ve never watched a reality show. But I don’t like the concept, and from the few minutes I’ve seen of Survivor, The Bachelor and others my opinion seems valid.

Worst scripted show that I like anyway: Space: 1999. I didn’t see it in its day, but I’m watching the series while it’s available on Peacock. I like Martin Landau, Barbara Bain and the rest of the cast, and everyone tries hard. The spaceship models and special effects are not bad. But the show can't pull it all together for some reason.

As a child, what was your aspiration for adulthood?

I wanted to be a scientist.
